ARIES4 2022 - 2024
– Alliance of Regional Innovation Ecosystems on Smart & Sustainable Specialization Strategies
A European innovation alliance consisting of a total of 16 partners from four European regions: Swedish Värmland, Spanish Navarra, Danish Southern Denmark and Bulgarian Gabrovo which aims to create a system for cooperation and knowledge flow between the main actors in smart specialization strategies, ie universities, vocational training providers, the public sector, business and society at large. This is to ensure the existence of the skills, tools and attitudes required for the development from S3 to S4 +.
Funding Partners: EU Erasmus+
ERUF Solar Energy Cluster 2021 - 2023
– for the development of innovations, business and skills
Through the solar energy cluster, a meeting place is created where Värmland SMEs meet national actors for collaboration, interaction and joint development. Create separate development sub-activities where innovations, business and competence are developed sustainably and where the national players add competence and are customers of the products and business models that the Värmland SMEs have developed.
Funding Partners: ERUF, Tillväxtverket
Solar-powered greenhouses
Development of intelligent control systems.
Funding Partners: Swedish Energy Agency, Glava Energy Center
PerDry 2019 - 2022
The purpose of the project is to evaluate the combination of solar energy, demand-driven energy-efficient lighting and storage via the network for exercise track application. The project will also examine the users ‘behavior and the stakeholders’ approach to the form of cooperation.
Funding Partners: Swedish Energy Agency, Glava Energy Center, Su-Ping Burman
AI4-ENERGY 2020 - 2023
How AI, machine learning and Cloud / Edge calculations further develop renewable energy systems.
The integration of renewable energy sources in the electricity grid, in combination with advances in the ICT area (IoT, Cloud / Edge) has created the conditions for further development of the smart grid.
Funding Partners: Swedish Energy Agency, University of Karlstad
PerDry 2019 - 2022
The Solar-EraNET project PerDry stands for Dry Production Routes for large-scale perovskite solar cells made of harmless metal halides and is a project carried out within the framework of the program Electricity from the Sun (Swedish Energy Agency).
Funding Partners: Swedish Energy Agency, Glava Energy Center, JB EcoTech AB

ecoINSIDE 2015 - 2021
ecoINSIDE is a project about climate-driven growth in Inner Scandinavia, a cross-border region containing the four counties of Akershus and Hedmark (Norway) and Dalarna and Värmland (Sweden).
Through commitment to green economic development through cross-border cooperation, the project will achieve added value and solve environmental and climate challenges. This will be done by utilizing different skills and strengths, and establish cooperation between business, research and innovation environments across the border.
Within the three focus areas Solar Technology & Energy Systems, Waste Resources and Sustainable Building Technology, there is potential for partnerships and for achieving crossborder added value.

Adaptive Control of Energy System (ACES) project 2018 - 2020
Project objective: Develope, test and validate methods for adaptive control of energy systems.
Project Manager: Metrum. Partner Companies: Glava Energy Center, and more from Sweden, Norway and Germany.
Funding Partners: Swedish Energy Agency, the Research Council of Norway and the counterpart in Germany in the framework of the joint programming initiative ERA-Net Smart Energy Systems with support of European Union´s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

Solar Värmland 2017 - 2020
The purpose of the project: Despite clear solar energy potential, Sweden has only one tenth as many solar cell installations per capita as Germany.
The project Solar Värmland wants to change that. The Solar Värmland project is working near a solar cell research group at Karlstad University to create the foundation for new technologies, products and services within solel connected to silicon solar cells and with solar production in the Nordic climate. In one of the sub-projects, the Glava Energy Center is involved through the following companies: Ferrroamp, Nordic Solar AB, Akademiska Hus, Perfekta Industrier AB, Fusen AS, Innos AS and SunErgy AS.
Funders: Climate sync, Karlstad University, Region Värmland, etc. and a number of co-funders.

Smart Grids Plus ERA-Net - European Pattern Recognition (EPR) project 2016 - 2018
Project objective: Develope, test and validate methods for applying pattern recognition ot six application areas: pro-active maintenance (Energjisa and MälarEnergi), power consumption studies (Falbygdens energi), local energy systems – microgrids (Glava Energy Center), power regulation by voltage control (MälarEnergi) Hosting Capacity (MälarEnergi) and Inertial systems support (Enerjisa).
Project goal: Using pattern recognition as a tool for grid operators and generators to optimise the power system and enable higher share of renewable energy generation in the system.
Project Manager: Metrum. Partner companies: Glava Energy Center, Embriq, Eltek, Mälarenergi, STRI, Energisa and Baskent Ayedag Toroslar from Sweden, Norway and Turkey.
Funding partners: Swedish Energy Agency, the Research Council of Norway and the Scientific and Technnological Research Council of Turkey (Tübitak) in the framework of the joint programming initiative ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus with support of European Union´s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
BSR 2017 - 2018
The goal is to create new business opportunities between SMEs within the regions of Glava Energy Center in Sweden and Arena Solar Energy Cluster in Norway. The project will support a stand at the InterSolar Trade fair.
Tillväxtverkets beslut är inom ramen för så kallat försumbart stöd (EU 1407/2013).
Funding partners: Arena Solar Energy Cluster, Glava Energy Center, Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, Karlstads university, Solar Energy Association of Sweden.
Test bed for new solar energy solutions with focus on technology and business development 2013 - 2015
The project was the first step for the national testbed and innovation infrastructure for solar power solutions that to date lives on. The testbed gave greater opportunities for research, innovation and quality in the solar energy field – which ultimately contribute to a more sustainable urban development.
The goal was and is to become a nationally and internationally leading test bed for solar solutions that tie together leading Swedish innovation actors in long-term cooperation. The goal was also that through intersectoral discussions and personal meetings, where the players in the value chain actively participated, clarify how needs are met by the test beds resources and then actively work to increase utilization of these.
